The J.A.M. (The Jonathan Arrington Memorial Party)

The JAM: 2010
Updated May
27th, 2010
(more to come, so don't forget to check
back)
(Scroll down to the bottom of the page for some cool
videos) Just added several more videos!!!!
Some of Jonathan's band members will be performing at The JAM. Jonathan Gann and Jessie Hebert to participate in a tribute to Jonathan.
May 30th, 2010. This will be our 4th JAM. An afternoon celebrating the life and love of music of a special (and talented) young man named "Jonathan." We had The JAM at The Sand Bar on Lake Maurepas in 2007 & 2008. In 2009, we had it at Lake Palourde (Morgan City). This year, it will be back in Livingston / Ascension Parish (where it belongs). Thanks again to all that made the trip down to Morgan City last year.
The date is Sunday, May 30th, (Memorial Day Weekend). There's a lot of other cool events going on that weekend. Bayou Fest (LSU), The Jambalaya Festival, big party at The Prop Stop, and our "little" party for Jonathan. We plan to kick off around Noon and go until about 5:00 P.M.
Note: The Tiki Hut and Sarita's are in a residential area (River Highlands) on Diversion Canal. We want to be a good neighbor and friend to the homeowners. Please: No speeding or littering (by land or by boat). Law enforcement (by road and water) will be out and about.
We will have our F.M. transmitter tuned to 90.1 FM. Bring your FM radio and you can hear us anywhere in the local area!
Downscaled and downsized this year. We are NOT trying to be the biggest event, just some great music. A family event.
Jonathan's friend (and mine) Gram Rea is the featured performer. Gram and his new band, Chasing Scarlett to headline. Haven't seen Chasing Scarlett yet? Check them out on facebook and myspace.
Coozan will be there, too. We have some people setting in with both bands. Quite a few surprises.
Another person some of you might have heard of.......Kane Glaze will be there. Kane has retired from the music scene and Swamp Pop lost one of their finest, but he told me he will be there. (Kane has played 2 of the last 3 JAM's). Many do not know it, but Kane can actually play the guitar (normally he is a keyboardist). I want everyone to help me twist his arm and get him to sing a song or two and play guitar.
Members of a band that recently got back together and making the rounds (just in time for summer) and there's a rumor they will be there. Coozan How cool is that?
We will be on the outside deck at The Tiki Bar. You can come by car or by boat. Anchor out (the idle zone is back) and have a great time. I really hope some of the nice people that were at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd JAM return for this one. Remember to support all of our places on the water, designate a responsible skipper, have fun, and get home safely.
If
you are new to the area, we have The Tiki Hut,
Sarita's Mexican Restaurant, Thunder Bayou Store (and rentals),
Marina Highlands, and more. More
later, so check back. (If you would, shoot me an e-mail if you plan on
attending, I'd appreciate that).

Check out Jonathan's site, too.
www.JonathanArrington.com (we will be updating it with photos and
videos of the last 3 JAM's very soon).
My friends at www.bayouboaters.com will be there, helping and organizing. (Thanks, guys).

He stays busy and gets called out a lot, but my friend, Jay Grymes, (our official River Rat Weather Guru) said he is going to do his best to be there (and I think he will).
Sincerely,

P.S.
So, (God forbid), you're not much into Jambalaya
(Jambalaya Festival) or you don't want to spend the day with over 100,000 people
at LSU with Bayou Fest (Country Music), I invite you to come spend a special
afternoon with some of my friends {the best musicians I know}, and celebrate Jonathan.
***My friends in law enforcement will be out. I remind everyone to act and
drink responsibly. Thanks!
